Some things to think about . . .

1. Is there really a reason that a young girl should be wearing mid-drifts and short shorts or short skirts? Is there really a reason that any woman should be wearing mid-drifts and short shorts or short skirts?

2. What is going through the mind of others when they see a female of any age dressed that way? What is going through the minds of men in particular when they see a female dressed that way?

3. Should one want someone to like/love them for their outer person or their inner person?

4. Why are there dress code rules at school (or in other organizations) pertaining to the length of skirts and shorts?

The Dress of the Day

Recently my husband and I were waiting for a table at a nice restaurant when around 20 girls (about age 12) came in with their parents. The girls apparently belonged to some sort of sports team (my husband concluded they were a volleyball team) and they were wearing their uniforms into the restaurant. Although I personally would not wear something so casual into a nice restaurant, that is not this issue I want to deal with today. The issue I want to deal with was how little the uniforms actually covered of the girls' bodies. The shorts (if you could even call them shorts) were up to their bottoms. Not only did the outfits barely cover any of the body, but they were tight fitting as well. Did I mention that at the oldest, these girls were 12! It really got me thinking about the way today's youths dress, in particular, how today's girls dress.

If one walks around the mall today, one can help but notice the display of skin by females of all ages. Although it is almost, if not just as disgusting that women feel the need to show as much skin as possible when it comes to the clothing they wear, they are adults and have the right to choose to wear whatever they like. But when I see children, yes children, walking around in mid-drifts and short shorts or short skirts I am absolutely appalled. This brings a few questions to my mind. Did their mothers and fathers knowingly allow their daughters to leave the house looking that way? Or, further more, did their mothers and fathers buy this attire for them? Or, better yet, who decided it was a good idea to start making these types of clothes for five year olds?

Over the next few days, I will be examining this issue at a more in-depth level.

'Till Then,

Who I Am

I am a 23-year-old gal from Texas who is looking foward to opportunity to share my views with you. I have a degree in Biochemistry (so don't be too suprised if Science related articles show up on here from time to time) but I really have no idea what I want to do with my life. I've been married for two years now to my high school sweetheart and we have a very spoiled dog we adopted from a rescue shelter. I love being informed when it comes to things like politics and sports and even the weather. . . I try very hard to be up to date with the things going on in the world around me. Hopefully some of my future writing will cause you to think just a little differently about something than you had before or maybe it will inspire you or maybe at least it will be something to sparks your interest. No matter why you read, I hope that you keep coming back.
Looking foward to the first real subject . . . Sunday or Monday!

The theme of this blog

Ok . . .so I'm new to the whole blogging thing . . . but don't discount me. I have bold opinions about serious issues and I look foward to sharing them with whoever will read. In this blog I will share my thoughts on everything from politics to religion to even baseball from a point a view that isn't readily available to most of the public - a conservative, family-oriented, and most importantly a God-centered and God-focused world.
Happy reading!
